Dr. James Levin-Owner

Dr. James Levin's love of animals began in 1953 when his family moved into a suburb, blocks from the Detroit Zoo. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1973 with a B.S. in Zoology.  In 1977 Dr. Levin accomplished his life goal of becoming a veterinarian when he completed his DVM at Michigan State. In 1982 Dr. Levin moved to Laguna Beach, California with his wife Pam. He quickly became active in the coastal community.

Dr. and Mrs. Levin raised two daughters and son in Laguna Beach. All three children attended El Morro, Thurston and graduated from Laguna Beach High School. An active sports enthusiast, Dr. Levin, was a prominent figure in the community's sport scene. He coached all three children's AYSO soccer teams, as well as basketball for the Laguna Beach Boys and Girls club and NJB. Dr. Levin has also taken a strong interest in promoting animal care education in the Laguna Beach school system and has spent time volunteering in the classrooms at El Morro and Thurston. He is proud of the many young students he mentored over the years that have gone on to become veterinarian technicians and veterinarians. In addition, Dr. and Mrs. Levin have been avid supporters of SchoolPower for over 25 years.

2011 mark Dr. Levin's 30th year anniversary as owner and operator of Laguna Beach Animal Hospital. Dr. Levin has a special interest in helping others, both animals and people. He is a member of the AVMA,CVMA, SCVMA, and AAHA. Dr. Levin has worked with and supported the Laguna Beach Animal Shelter, Bluebell Foundation for Cats, and the Animal Crackers Pet Rescue. He has also been a long standing board member of Animal Urgent care facility, providing after hours veterinary care for Southern California

Dr. Levin has 2 golden retrievers, Blue and Lucy, and a cat, Twilight. Dr. Levin can be seen often walking or jogging with his wife and dogs through Heisler Park.

Dr. Amy Rosencrantz

Dr. Amy Rosencrantz graduated from Kansas State University in 2008. She then went on to complete and internship in small animal surgery and medicine at the ASPCA Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital in NYC. She has been working in Southern California ever since and is thrilled to be a part of the team at Laguna Beach Animal Hospital. Dr. Rosencrantz has a special interest in internal medicine and dermatology and is a member of the AVMA, CVMA, and SCVMA. She looks forward to getting to know your pet family through the stages of their lives. Dr. Rosencrantz has a dog named Forrest, and a cat named P.J. and can be seen down at the beach enjoying the views with her pup. 

Dr. Cathy Nguyen

Dr. Cathy Nguyen grew up in Orange County and did her undergraduate studies at Stanford University. She received her veterinary degree from UC Davis in 2013. She completed a small animal rotating internship at California Veterinary Specialists where she gained valuable clinical and surgical skills. She has a special interest in soft tissue surgery. She is excited about being a part of the Laguna Beach Animal Hospital team and looks forward to providing compassionate care to your furry family members. She is a member of the AVMA, CVMA. and SCVMA. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, photography, and spending time with her family and two dogs, Zoe and Olive.

Roger- R.V.T

Roger's father is a veterinarian so working with animals has always been his calling. He has been with Laguna Beach Animal Hospital since 2002 and feels no family is complete with out a pet. The most rewarding part of Roger's job is helping sick animals get better so that they can go home and return to their families. Growing up in the veterinary business and as a Registered Veterinary Technician Roger has a lot of practical knowledge that he contributes to Laguna Beach Animal Hospital each day. Roger has two bengal cats named Scout and Sammie.

Maggie- Office Manager

Maggie grew up in San Diego with all different types of pets throughout her life and has always had a passion to care for them. Maggie graduated with a degree in Sociology from UC Boulder in Colorado. After college Maggie moved back home to California and knew she wanted to pursue a career that allowed her to dedicate her time to helping those around her. Maggie currently has four dogs named Toby, Jack, Tyson and Brody.

Jorrell- Veterinary Assistant

Jorrell can't remember a time when he hasn't enjoyed being around animals. For Jorrell, the most rewarding part of working at Laguna Beach Animal Hospital is having the opportunity to provide a safe and loving environment for the pets. Jorrell has worked at Laguna Beach Animal Hospital since 2008.

Kallie-Veterinary Technician

Kallie grew up with all different types of animals. Her great grandfather was a veterinarian, so the love for animals has run in the family. She currently works as a kennel attendant but through her education at the Professional Veterinary Assistant school aspires to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She loves caring for all of the pets that we see and feels honored to assist in saving lives and treating sick animals. Kallie owns two adorable dogs, Louie a 7 year old cairn terrier and Baylee a 4 year old poodle mix. She loves to take her dogs to the beach in her spare time and also enjoys horseback riding.

Adriana-Veterinary Technician

Adriana knew she wanted to work with animals since she was little. She has had pets all of her life, and always loved all different types animals and nature. She started her veterinary education in Guatemala in 2005. When she moved to the United States in 2011 she began her professional career with animals as a kennel attendant and veterinary assistant. She started working at Laguna Beach Animal Hospital in 2013, and finds her position most rewarding knowing she is helping animals feel better and knowing that they go home healthy and happy. In her free time she enjoys volunteering at a pet rescue, dancing, and hiking.

Dean

Dean has cared for animals all his life from childhood pets, to pet sitting and dog walking. Dean chose a career in veterinary medicine because he holds a special place in his heart for all the cats and dogs. He is able to understand their needs and ease their fears. Working with animals has always been his passion and the most rewarding part of his job is having the opportunity to care for and nurture all the animals the visit LBAH. He has three pets of his own; Birna a Rhodesian Ridgeback, Rhett a Pit Bull mix, and Boss a Lab mix. In his spare time he loves being with his dogs or wrestling.

Kyley

Kyley started working for LBAH in 2013. Her love for animals however began at a young age. She has spent many years caring for animals as a dog trainer, technician and at the local zoo’s. Her passion to provide the best care for animals and assist in their recovery has led her to pursue a degree in biology at Cal State Fullerton and continue on to Vet school after graduation. She truly enjoys how her position at LBAH is a learning experience every day and loves getting to know all of our patients. In her free time she loves going to dog beach or hiking with her adorable husky mix Vier. She also has two cats named Ice Man and Indy. 

 

Rebecca

Rebecca began as a receptionist at LBAH in 2013. Her experience with animals however started when she was younger, training Arabian horses. She has been passionate about working with animals all her life and found her place at LBAH helping people help their pets. The most rewarding part of her job is getting see both our clients and patients happy and healthy. Rebecca and her husband Jason even rescued their own kitten Amarii who she has trained to do many tricks on command! She also hopes to add a dog to the family one day soon and has a special love for Akitas. Her other passion is and always has been gymnastics. As a child Rebecca was born and raised a gymnast and even coaches younger athletes. She enjoys spending time with her husband and being outdoors hiking, biking, and going to the beach.
